1) My fav chapstick: to this day it is my favorite chapstick and if I run out, it isn’t long before I head back to the store for another. The first time I came upon this one was in a Hugo’s grocery store in Grand Forks. The reason I love this brand is it’s just the right amount of minty, it stays on for awhile but you can noticeably feel it sinking in & healing. I also love it because I can wear it UNDER lip color or lip glosses for some pre-nourish protection (my lips are known to break out from random lipsticks & glosses so this helps create a barrier and actually lessen irritation)

2) Epionce Dialy Sheild Tinted SPF 50: I didn’t fall in love with their whole skincare line but there are hidden gems throughout it. This tinted moisturizer is DEF mine and here’s why- When it first goes on it has a barely there rosy-beige tint to it that quickly blends out and evens skin tone. On top of that, you can smell the rice bran used in it. I personally love that smell as much as I love the soothing effect of it. This moisturizer is a PERFECT year-round moisturizer. Thick and nutrient rich enough for winter but melty and sunburn soothing for the summer months. I use this everyday either alone or under my makeup.
3) Where my lotion ladies at? This one’s for you! Trader Joes is known mostly for their food/beverage selection but honestly their beauty/skin/hair/vitamins section is my go-to spot in the store. I personally HAVE TO put lotion on each day. It’s sort of a meditated ritual for me. Now be warned: this is a thicker consistency BUT if you hate the feeling of lotion this is also a good one for you because it isn’t greasy and it doesn’t really budge from the spot applied to meaning you could spot treat your dry skin. This lotion smells so good too! It isn’t a fake overly sweetened coconut scent. It has a very basic natural coconut essence. This is my fav summer lotion because it just smells like a Hawaiian beach getaway while actually nourishing the skin. OH! P.s. it can also be found in pumpkin scent. (I don’t see it there often but it is a thing)
4) Redavid Orchid Oil Treatment: I personally use this oil 2-3 times a day, and not just on my hair! I use after washing my hair for less frizz, reduced drying time and shine. If I don’t style my hair immediately, I will apply AGAIN before styling for heat protectant benefits. At the end of the day, depending on if my hair is down or up & when my next wash is, I may use it A THIRD time on just my fragile baby hairs. The use of Orchid oil actually comes from the skincare world. Knowing that I put this oil to the test on my sensitive skin, more out of research for myself but glad to say I did. This product has also helped immensely with my dry, cracked cuticles & hands. I even put it on my nose when it’s irritated from tissues/sickness. It’s good stuff and comes in 3 different retail sizes!
5) I’m not going to lie it was tough coming up with 5. I realized through this blog post; I am a very minimal product user. That’s probably thanks to my overly sensitive skin. My last product has been a long standing one personally. I have used this product for as long as I’ve been able to wash my face. It is Thayers Witch Hazel. I ALWAYS have this product on hand for good reason too; witch hazel can do so much! It’s good for ingrown hairs, canker & cold sores, insect bites, eczema, varicose veins, etc… I couldn’t list all the uses, there’s so many. I personally use it as a toner as it helps with wrinkles, acne, and shrinking pores. One way I’ve brought it into the salon is to recommend my dread-heads to use it on their scalp in between washes. Witch Hazel helps supremely with scalp irritation, dermatitis, and getting rid of excess oil while keeping water/moisture in the hair. I’ve only ever trusted Thayers because they offer an alcohol-free formula & I have used a plethora of their scents. My personal favorites are rose, lavender, and cucumber!
