Healthy ingredients have always been a priority but the efforts haulted there with very few exceptions. Unfortunately, the entire operations of our beloved industry is really just starting this eco conscious transition. This includes such things as ethical sourcing, low carbon manufacturing, thoughtful packaging, resource use reduction, intentional water efficiency, and many other facets of sustainability.
Salon 3|5 was founded when this was not even a thought bubble within the industry. Recycling, reducing material use, and other sustainability practices of today were a basis of Salon 3|5’s foundation! It was a natural step, proving our commitment to our purpose & practice. Setting a standard that started with being the first Green Circle Certified Salon in North Dakota.
Green Circle Salon CertifIcation
The Green Circle Salon Certification is near and dear to our hearts. This is not because we were the first in North Dakota, but instead, it was a concrete quality commitment. It begins with recycling & repurposing in order to divert waste from landfills and waterways. A turnkey program known as Green Circle Salons allows for the repurpose of up to 95% of our salon waste. This includes hair clippings, used foils, color tubes, aerosol cans, excess hair color, papers, plastics, used gloves, shipping materials, and more. This enables salons to reduce waste and implement energy, water, and cost saving practices. There are just over 2000 Green Circle Salons in North America & we are proudly one.
