1) If you could give 1 piece of Hair advice, what would it be?
Don’t fight it; whether it be your natural curl pattern, strong underlying pigments/warm tones, cowlicks, etc…

2) What is your favorite type of hair to work with?
Hmmm, it really depends on the service being performed and the desired outcome but I love the extremities like thick, heavy hair OR really fine hair.

3) What is your favorite/preferred era of hair? …60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, modern, midevil, edgy, elegant?
Hands down, 90’s. SO MANY accessories, colors, braids, textures. But I also do have a love some good ole fashion 1920-1940 era hair. It’s just soo elegant and sculpted. It is truly an art form.

4) If you were forced into doing just ONE service for the rest of your career, what would it be & why?
Oh, there is so many things I would miss doing! Part of me wants to say lash extensions because I would desperately hate to give that up but in all honestly my love for hair started with styling. I love costume styles, Avant Garde styling, blowouts, daily styles, thermal styling, formals & special occasion, braids, dread styling, extensions & accessories.

5) So far, what’s been your most favorite career related experience?
My favorite experience is probably going to Atlanta with my former salon. Not only was it the first trip I’d taken in a long while, I was among good company. It was absolute HELL getting to and from ATL, but that’s a different story for a different day. I will treasure those memories and genuienly miss my Blush gang.

6) What has been your favorite class you’ve taken?
There are so many good ones! Amy from Unite always had AMAZING product classes with such gold information but one of my favorite classes was an Oligo Balayage class in Minneappolis put on by Alann Sluser. She really clarified the balayage skill for me and different ways to use it. There was an awesome coffee shop below the salon too! It was a whole vibe.

7) What is your personal go to hair product?
For the longest time it was Glossing Spray by Unite. Lately though, I’ve been obsessed with nourishing my scalp so Pacifica’s Scalp Love Rosmary Mint Serum has been my obsession. But I would say a staple in my routine is REDAVID’s adjusting hairspray! Oddly, I’m not a huge hairspray user so I love that I can adjust the spray flow on this one. Being in quarantine has also emphasized my love for simple skincare. Skin wise I’ve been using Physician’s Formula’s Rose all day oil free serum. I have been just bathing in this stuff! It’s fresh, cooling, and smells amazing!
